Danielle Ossenfort – A Boost of Confidence and A Hint of Victory

NEWTON (June 23, 2011) – It was back to Black Hills Speedway for Danielle and the Ossenfort Racing team last weekend, and Friday evening’s events proved to be just the “boost” she needed!
Hot laps started Friday night off right for Danielle and her Knology #10D. “The track was great and I didn’t have to lift off the gas at all! But I also knew that the track was going to start drying out before my heat.” Danielle said.
The #10D started second, sitting outside first row of her heat, so it was very important to her that they picked the right set up for the race. “After working on the car and talking about the track, I went out to start the heat with a lot of confidence, and we must have done something right!” Danielle beat the pole sitter to the first corner and walked away with her first heat win of the season from there. “It was so exciting and it was just the kind of confidence that I needed! Now, I know that I do have the skills and the car to start winning again,” said Danielle of her race.
Knowing what the track had done for her heat, Danielle and the Ossenfort racing team tightened up their cars for the feature. Danielle’s heat race win put her in fifth for the start of the night’s main event. “I had a great start. Right away I passed two or three cars. Unfortunately, I chose the wrong line and was passed by a couple of cars as well. I ended up finishing sixth for the night, but I was happy with my finish and the entire night as a whole. I’m getting more aggressive and comfortable with the car again which feels really good,” said Danielle.
You can look for Danielle to be back on the track again for the July 1 event at Black Hills Speedway, in Rapid City. Be sure you make it out to cheer her on!
