Hahn Scores Podium Run In Grizzly Nationals Finale

SAPULPA, Okla. (July 13, 2017) Ending his weekend with a third place finish against the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series National Tour presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network at the Grizzly Nationals, Blake Hahn ended the weekend strong, despite having to dig his Griffith Truck and Equipment No. 52 out of a hole.

“We were good all weekend, just ended up getting behind on Friday," said Hahn.

"In Friday's Heat, I had to check up to avoid crashing and when I did, I just couldn’t move forward so that put us in the B-Main. After that, it was just getting anything we could get. The track was narrow, so I knew going forward was going to be tough,” explained Blake, who was Friday’s CP-Carrillo Hard Charger with a run from 17th to ninth.

With Saturday’s starting on a much better note, Hahn still had to play catch up with his starting spot matching his finish from the night before.

“The car Saturday was great. We were able to run pretty much anywhere we wanted for a little more than half the race before you had to be on the bottom and that was what we needed to move forward. I have to give the track crew credit. They worked really hard to give us a surface we could race on. Running ninth to third, I was really happy with it.”

Up next for Hahn is the Rushmore Rumble at Black Hills Speedway in Rapid City, S.D. on Friday, July 14 and Saturday, July 15. Blake’s best finish at the high-mile oval came in 2015 with a fifth place finish. In last year’s two day affair, Hahn managed a best finish of eighth.
