Inside Line Promotions – BILLINGS, Mont. (Aug. 27, 2018) – Sides Motorsports will field a second entry each of the next two weekends as the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series visits the West Coast.

Keoni Texeira is scheduled to join car owner Jason Sides as drivers this Friday and Saturday at Skagit Speedway in Alger, Wash., during the Outlaw Energy Showdown. Texeira made his debut with the team in late June during a World of Outlaws doubleheader at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa.

Sides will be the lone Sides Motorsports pilot next Monday at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Wash., and on Sept. 5 at Willamette Speedway in Lebanon, Ore., before Tim Kaeding rejoins Sides Motorsports for the famed Gold Cup Race of Champions at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, Calif., Sept. 7-8.

“It will be great for Keoni to get more laps behind the wheel this weekend at Skagit,” Sides said. “Tim has done a great job in a handful of starts with Sides Motorsports this year. Plus, he knows those California tracks really well so I think he can be a contender during the Gold Cup.”

Kaeding recently guided a Sides Motorsports sprint car to a fifth-place finish during the Knoxville Nationals earlier this month.

Sides competed in a pair of races with the World of Outlaws last weekend, beginning on Friday at Black Hills Speedway in Rapid City, S.D., during the Rushmore Outlaw Showdown. He timed in eighth quickest and placed fourth in a heat race before lining up 11th in the A Main. Sides advanced a few positions early in the race before dropping to a 12th-place finish.

“We can drive through there when the track is pretty decent,” he said. “We have to work on getting our stuff better at the end of the race because we fall back toward the end. I got by two of them on the last lap or two to salvage 12th. We need to work on the middle or the middle to the end of each race on being tighter. We’re good early and not good enough in the end.”

The weekend concluded on Saturday at Big Sky Speedway during the NAPA Auto Parts & Visit Billings presents the Big Sky Brawl at Big Sky Speedway. Sides qualified 11th quickest and finished fourth in a heat race, which lined him up 11th in the main event for the second straight night.

“We were running around 10th or 11th when we had a flat,” he said. “I was dropping down to the infield when someone got into me. We went into the pits and got it changed, but we were really loose after that. We didn’t realize it bent the front axle so it had the left front dropped down.”

Sides salvaged a 15th-place finish.
