Inside Line Promotions – GRAND FORKS, N.D. (Aug. 19, 2019) – Kraig Kinser is beginning his trek west.

Up next is a World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series show – the NOS Energy Drink Rushmore Outlaw Showdown – this Friday at Black Hills Speedway in Rapid City, S.D., before The Brawl at Big Sky Speedway on Saturday at Big Sky Speedway in Billings, Mont.

Kinser capped this doubleheader with a fifth-place result at Big Sky Speedway last year.

“Knowing we’ve run good helps because you want to take as much confidence into tracks as you can,” he said.

Kinser spent last weekend in North Dakota, kicking off the weekend at River Cities Speedway on Friday for the Second Leg of the Northern Tour.

He qualified 18th quickest to start the night at the bullring.

“We didn’t qualify great and didn’t race very good in our heat,” he said. “We paid the price by starting in the back of the feature. We got better in the feature, but not enough to make a big charge. That’s just part of it.”

Kinser rallied from a spin in a heat race to place seventh, which was one position shy of locking into the main event. That relegated him to run the Last Chance Showdown and a win in that garnered a transfer into the rear of the A Main. Kinser closed the night by advancing from 19th to 14th in the main event.

“I feel like we’re struggling a bit and we need to pick up on things we’re slacking,” he said. “I need to get the car qualified better to get us in a better position to start the night and then go from there.”

The Duel in the Dakotas at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, N.D., rained out last Saturday.
